Why wear masks?
Certain highly contagious diseases transmit through the air or via liquid droplets and aerosols that escape the mouth and nose when we speak, sneeze, cough, laugh, or clear our throats. Airborne pathogens can remain infectious to anyone who unknowingly inhales it. Disease control experts recommend wearing a mask to reduce the risks of being infected and infecting others. Wearing a quality mask reduces these risks and can be highly effective when combined with careful hygiene and social distancing.
